PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burke comes to the cage accompanied by LOSE YOURSELF. Turner is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hartwell arena song IIHF 2013. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Trey Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Turner!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Burke fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Turner sprawls well initially but Burke persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Burke is nestled in close to Turner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Burke not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Burke thows a huge punch but Turner dodges it nicely.
Turner is trying to get back to full guard.
Burke takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Turner is trying to control but can't.
Turner tries to roll over but Burke keeps him under control.
Turner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Burke.
Burke is trying to control. Turner wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burke is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Turner throws a front kick aimed at Burke's knee but Burke avoids it well.
A punch lands to the side of Turner 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Tom Turner has been cut.
Burke shoots in for a takedown but Turner shows good takedown defense.
Burke fails with a takedown attempt.
Good leg kick by Turner there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Turner throws an overhand right that lands on Burke's shoulder, as Burke tries to avoid the shot.
Turner turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Turner scores with a head kick.

It looks like Trey Burke has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turner throws a leg kick but Burke moved away.
Turner throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Turner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Burke's calf.
Burke tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Burke is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A slapping leg kick lands for Turner.
Turner lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Turner tries a head kick but it misses.
Turner lands with a thumping leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Turner.

Turner rushes Burke and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Turner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Turner working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Turner tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Burke jumps guard but Turner stands there with Burke around his waist. Burke gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Burke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turner tries to throw a body punch but Burke avoids it by throwing Turner back against the cage.
Turner lands a nice uppercut.
Turner pushes Burke back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Turner lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A head punch on the inside from Turner fails to land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Turner.
A short right from Turner on the inside.
Turner lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Burke.
Burke prevents a body shot from Turner.
Turner looking to throw knees to the head but Burke is blocking nicely.
Burke is trying to force a seperation but Turner has the dominant position.
Turner makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Turner misses with a short punch on the inside.
Turner comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Turner lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Turner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burke moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turner connects with a leg kick. Burke looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Turner throws a body kick that misses.
Turner thumps Burke with a low kick.
Turner lands with a nice body kick.
Burke on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Turner. Turner obviously looking to wear him down.
Tom Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Turner lands a leg kick that knocks Burke off balance momentarily.
Turner throws a quick inside leg kick.
Burke takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Turner circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Burke drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Turner follows Burke to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Turner!
As Tom Turner got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Thank you to my opponent, Trey Burke, and most of all, Thanks to you FANS, this is ALL for you !! I don't get out much, SO your support is basically ALL I have, thank you, for sharing your time with me. /bow '.
Trey Burke was interviewed post fight and said 'I WILL BECAUSE HIM BECAUSE THE JUDGE COMPLETILY SEE WRONG THINGS IN COURT'.
