PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Glyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gevorg Petrosyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrosyan has chosen No Turning Back - Stand and Fight as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Owen Glyde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Gevorg Petrosyan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrosyan misses with a kick to the body.
Glyde avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Glyde counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Petrosyan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Glyde still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Glyde has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Glyde tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Glyde has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Glyde throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Petrosyan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Glyde is in Petrosyan's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Owen Glyde will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Glyde shoots in but Petrosyan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Petrosyan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Glyde stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Glyde moves away from the strike by Petrosyan.

It looks like Owen Glyde has been cut.
Glyde closes the distance and clinches up with Petrosyan, looking for a takedown. Glyde pushes Petrosyan against the cage but Petrosyan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Petrosyan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Glyde doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Glyde manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Glyde got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petrosyan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Glyde has managed to get both his arms back between Petrosyan's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Owen Glyde.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Glyde, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
