Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BRANDON COSEY! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cedric Rains! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! COSEY shoots in but no luck this time. COSEY moves into the clinch. COSEY changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rains fights it off and pushes away nicely.
COSEY shoots in and drives through. Rains sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BRANDON COSEY. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rains closes the distance and clinches. Rains is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rains stops a takedown attempt from COSEY.
Rains manages to break the clinch.
Rains throws a leg kick but COSEY sees it coming and moves out of range. COSEY looks to clinch and Rains counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rains wants to control from the top but COSEY keeps moving. Rains must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rains trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. COSEY misses with a series of wild punches.
Rains shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rains showed some decent athleticism there. Rains scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. COSEY takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
COSEY throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
COSEY fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rains on the side of the head. Rains gets caught flat footed, as COSEY shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cedric Rains dominated that round. The cut man is working on BRANDON COSEY's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rains instigates a clinch. Rains is looking for a takedown up against the cage. COSEY gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. An uppercut to the body lands inside from COSEY. Rains wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rains wants the takedown. COSEY is fighting it off but Rains persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in COSEY's guard against the cage. COSEY is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. COSEY pushes Rains off and scrambles back to his feet.
COSEY closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rains tries to get to full guard but COSEY has control of the leg. COSEY gets to his feet - back to striking we go! COSEY darts in and clinches Rains up against the cage. COSEY wants a takedown but no success here.
COSEY's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rains bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rains moves out of range as COSEY throws a body kick.
Rains closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. COSEY is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Rains stalling away here and it's allowed COSEY to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Rains throwing strikes but missing. COSEY is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rains wants to stand but COSEY has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rains wants to control from the top but COSEY keeps moving. COSEY has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rains off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. COSEY tries to close the distance and clinch but Rains swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rains shoots in and drives through. COSEY sprawls well. COSEY throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rains. A punch combination from COSEY misses. COSEY shoots and misses and Rains counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BRANDON COSEY. That's going to take a lot out of him. COSEY tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rains swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rains circles away from the clinch attempt and Rains counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. COSEY tries to score a body lock takedown but Rains shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rains just leaning against COSEY, taking a breather. COSEY manages to break the clinch.
COSEY lands with a cross. COSEY throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
COSEY connects with a high kick. COSEY rushes Rains and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rains leaning against his opponent.
Rains misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from COSEY.
Rains is pressed up against the cage. COSEY has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rains down to the mat. Rains avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rains looks to land a combination but COSEY avoids it well. Rains throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and COSEY counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rains.
That's four minutes gone in the round. COSEY tries to bench press Rains off him but Rains keeps the position. COSEY manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rains's best efforts. COSEY trying to hold on to Rains's head to control him but Rains postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rains stuffs the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that BRANDON COSEY will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on BRANDON COSEY's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
