Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Teodoro Dillon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Smith! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith tries to clinch there but Dillon circles away.
Dillon misses with a body shot.
Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dillon's waist but Dillon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. Smith closes the distance looking to clinch and Dillon counters with a left and a right that stings Smith. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dillon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to take a breather but Dillon is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smith wants to work for an arm triangle but Dillon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Smith is looking to take a break and control but Dillon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith is working for a kimura but Dillon is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Dillon still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Dillon has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is still trying to improve position. Smith trying to control but Dillon flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Smith is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith postures up in Dillon's guard and throws a big left but Dillon blocks it. Smith trying to control but Dillon is working from the bottom. Dillon wants to sweep but no luck. Smith trying to control but Dillon is working from the bottom. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control. Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dillon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard. Smith wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dillon is now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Smith dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dillon takes the fight into the clinch. Dillon pulls Smith into guard.
Smith has gone for a leg lock! Dillon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smith's guard. Dillon wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is trying to control the position but Dillon postures up. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. Dillon tries to stand but Smith is controlling from the bottom. Smith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Smith wasn't active enough on the ground. Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith advances position into side control! Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dillon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Smith throws an elbow but Dillon slips to the side and avoids it well. Smith goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dillon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Smith's guard! Nice work there by Dillon! Smith wriggles free and stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dillon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dillon wants it to stay on the feet. Chris Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Dillon misses. Smith has Dillon up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dillon is trying to pull guard but Smith has him pressed against the cage. Dillon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Dillon wants to get up but he can't break Smith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dillon won't allow Smith to sweep him here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Smith darts in trying to clinch and Dillon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Smith wants to control but Dillon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Smith is looking to improve his position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Smith pushes Dillon off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith has managed to clinch.
Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dillon forces Smith back against the cage and clinches. Smith is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Smith has Dillon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dillon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Dillon gets control of Smith's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dillon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Smith throws a big elbow that misses. Smith passes Dillon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith wants to take a breather but Dillon is having none of it. Dillon tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg. Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smith looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dillon wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dillon defends it well. Dillon is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Chris Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Chris Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Smith stalling. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Dillon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dillon trying to control from the bottom.
Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Smith is working for a submission of some sort.
