Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between August Delaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Karelin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, August Delaney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Karelin! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Delaney trying to hold on to Karelin's head to control him but Karelin postures up.
Delaney regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Karelin. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karelin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Delaney striking off his back but it's not causing Karelin any problems. Karelin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Delaney really is a fat lump. Delaney is trying to control Karelin's posture but Karelin avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Delaney sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Delaney is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Karelin off and has taken his back! Karelin trying to control the position but Delaney manages to sink in the hooks. Karelin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Delaney is throwing strikes by Karelin counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Karelin regains half guard. Delaney is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Karelin has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Hilo Conditioning and Sparring. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin gets full guard. Delaney postures up.
Delaney won't allow Karelin to sweep him here. Karelin trying to control the position.
Karelin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Delaney on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Karelin is nestled in close to Delaney, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karelin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Karelin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Delaney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Delaney is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karelin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Karelin lands strikes from half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Karelin connects with a nice short shot to Delaney's temple. Karelin is looking for a kimura here.
Karelin is trying to control the action in half guard but Delaney is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jordan Karelin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Karelin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Delaney blocking the ground and pound attempt from Karelin. Karelin is keen to just control but Delaney is a slippery customer. Delaney regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Karelin. Delaney pulls Karelin in close to prevent any damage. Delaney utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Delaney avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Karelin with a flurry of punches that miss. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Karelin lands a couple of digs. Karelin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Karelin chips away with some ground and pound.
Delaney is rocked! Karelin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Oh Delaney is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Karelin loads up on a big left hand. Delaney felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Karelin looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Delaney can't hide his disappointment, as Karelin celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Karelin!
