PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sam Magno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soren Holst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Holst's choice of entrance music: Indestructible. The key to victory for Sam Magno has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Soren Holst!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holst throws a body punch but Magno moves out of range.
Holst throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Magno avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Holst throws a lazy body kick

and Magno counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Holst swings wildly with an uppercut but Magno uses good head movement to avoid it.

Holst trying to control the position but instead, Magno has worked for underhooks and has pushed Holst into the cage.
Magno really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holst sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Magno's guard.

Holst feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Holst postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Magno looks a forlorn figure.
Oh Magno is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Holst is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Magno is forced to tap! Great finish!

In his post fight interview, Soren Holst started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
