Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crone Daris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Lou Johnson! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Watson and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Daris works Johnson's body with a nice hook. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Daris which made him look bad. Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daris throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Johnson looks to land a combination but Daris avoids it well. Johnson tries to bum rush Daris with a series of wild strikes but Daris uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Daris scores with a three punch combo!

Johnson looks winded! Daris ducks right into an uppercut from Johnson. Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Daris. Daris takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses. Johnson tries to clinch up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson swinging wildly here.
Crone Daris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Daris looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Daris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Johnson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Daris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing. A telegraphed right hand from Daris misses the target. Johnson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Daris has time to react. Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Daris moves forwards but Johnson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Daris bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Johnson throws a good cross that connects.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Daris thows a left - swing and a miss! Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Daris, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Daris against the cage but Daris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Daris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away. Johnson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Some wild striking there from Daris.
Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Daris. Daris circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Daris bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Daris gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Daris smiles and moves away.
Crone Daris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lou Johnson. Johnson throws a right and a left that Daris avoids nicely. Daris throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Daris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daris misses the shot to the body. Johnson shoots in but Daris avoids the takedown attempt easily. Johnson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Johnson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Daris had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson lands a jab-cross combination. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Daris lands with a good body shot. Daris misses the shot to the body. Johnson throws a head kick that misses. Lou Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Daris looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well. Daris is looking to wear down Johnson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Daris throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily. Daris lands a right hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Daris throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily. Daris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Daris wants it to stay on the feet. Daris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively. Daris misses with a wild combination.
Daris scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Crone Daris dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson wants to clinch but Daris slips to the side and Daris counters with a two punch combo. Johnson closes the distance and clinches. Daris breaks from the clinch.

Johnson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Johnson tries to clinch but Daris moves away and Daris counters with a left and a right... And another left! Johnson is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
