Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Luiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuri Boyka is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luiz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boyka tests Luiz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Luiz wants to clinch up but Boyka keeps it at a distance.
Luiz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Boyka throws a head kick that Luiz semi-blocks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Luiz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyka's waist but Boyka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Luiz off to one side.

Boyka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boyka has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Academia Ipanema. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Luiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Luiz is trying to control the action in half guard but Boyka is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Luiz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boyka is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Luiz is taking a breather. Boyka says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Oh Luiz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Boyka batters Luiz with a massive right followed by a huge left! Luiz is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Boyka lands a final crushing right hand to drop Luiz to the mat with a gruesome thud! Boyka is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
