Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erik Tarvainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Lean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Erik Tarvainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ Lean!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lean throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lean blocks a head kick by Tarvainen.
Lean fails with a takedown attempt.
A lazy body kick from Tarvainen
and Lean counters with a leg kick.
Lean misses with a few strikes there.
Tarvainen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lean tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tarvainen defends well and Lean ends up having to push Tarvainen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Lean manages to break the clinch.

Tarvainen drives through and clinches with Lean against the cage.
A short right from Tarvainen.
Tarvainen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lean.
Tarvainen tries a body shot but Lean blocks it.
Tarvainen is pressed up against the cage. Lean has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tarvainen down to the mat. Tarvainen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Erik Tarvainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ Lean.
Tarvainen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lean is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lean gets a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tarvainen throws a sloppy head kick and Lean moves out of range easily.
Tarvainen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lean swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tarvainen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lean doesn't seem bothered though.

Tarvainen lands a big uppercut and Lean crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lean looks OK. Tarvainen waves Lean back to his feet!


Lean is rocked!


It looks like JJ Lean has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tarvainen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tarvainen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lean swivels and escapes.
Tarvainen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lean looks winded!
Tarvainen tries a head kick but it misses.
Tarvainen thows a body shot but no joy.

Tarvainen takes the fight into the clinch.
Lean is trying to drag Tarvainen to the mat but Tarvainen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Tarvainen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lean goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Lean throws the left hand but Tarvainen avoids the punch easily.
Nice takedown defense from Lean. No joy for Tarvainen on that attempt.
Tarvainen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tarvainen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lean sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tarvainen somewhat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tarvainen gets a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tarvainen tries to land knees in the clinch but Lean avoids the damage to the body.
Tarvainen landing knees to the body.
Tarvainen lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Lean is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Lean throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Tarvainen just leaning against Lean, taking a breather.
Lean looking for a takedown.

Lean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tarvainen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lean was covering up waiting for the punch and Tarvainen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tarvainen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tarvainen drops back looking for a leg! Lean is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lean manages to kick Tarvainen off! Tarvainen jumps back into Lean's guard.
Lean wants to stand up but Tarvainen is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lean keeping moving, preventing Tarvainen from controlling successfully.

Tarvainen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tarvainen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lean back to the cage. Tarvainen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Tarvainen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lean manages to avoid it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Lean. No joy for Tarvainen on that attempt.
Tarvainen swinging wildly here.
An inside leg kick lands from Lean.
Tarvainen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tarvainen stuffs the takedown attempt from Lean. Lean gets slowly back to his feet.
Lean takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lean has a takedown stuffed.
Tarvainen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lean will feel that in the morning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lean buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Tarvainen moves into range and clinches up with Lean.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on JJ Lean's cut.
That's time! Tarvainen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tarvainen lands a nice hook to Lean's body. Lean takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Tarvainen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tarvainen throws the left hand but Lean avoids the punch easily.
Erik Tarvainen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lean takes the fight into the clinch.
Lean misses with a knee to the head.
Tarvainen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Lean manages to break the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Tarvainen as Lean shoots in.
Tarvainen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tarvainen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tarvainen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Erik Tarvainen is winning the standup battle so far.
Lean throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tarvainen lands with a nice combination. Lean backs away looking to recover.

Tarvainen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lean sprawling to the canvas! Lean rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tarvainen finish him?!
Lean is still on wobbly legs! Can Tarvainen finish him?
Lean is breathing heavily.
Lean walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Tarvainen swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Erik Tarvainen!
Erik Tarvainen decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
