Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jermaine Choake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Choake comes to the cage accompanied by Hans Zimmer - The Kraken. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Choake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bronson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choake moves away from the strike by Bronson.
Bronson throws out a powerful jab.
Choake connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bronson momentarily.
Bronson tries to land a body kick

and Choake counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Choake leaning against his opponent.
Bronson throws a punch but it's blocked by Choake.
Bronson is leaning against Choake and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Choake stalling in the clinch but Bronson improves position.
Bronson is pressed up against the cage. Choake has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bronson down to the mat. Bronson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fighters circling - Bronson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Choake throws a front kick that sends Bronson stumbling back into the cage.
Bronson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Choake.
Choake avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Choake fails with the takedown.
Bronson connects with a looping right hand.
Bronson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Choake is looking to clinch but Bronson is avoiding it.
Choake looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

A solid leg kick lands there for Bronson.

Choake moves into the clinch successfully.
Bronson struggles to land a body shot inside as Choake controls his hands.
Choake misses with an elbow strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Choake.
Choake tries to land knees in the clinch but Bronson avoids the damage to the body.
Bronson throws a punch but it's blocked by Choake.
Bronson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bronson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Choake backwards.
Bronson lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bronson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Bronson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bronson.

Choake wants a takedown.

Bronson lands with a left to the head.

Bronson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Choake wants to take the fight to the mat but Bronson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bronson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Choake wants the takedown. Bronson is fighting it off but Choake persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bronson's guard against the cage.
Choake postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Choake content to stall in guard here.
Bronson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Choake landing with the ground and pound.
Bronson looking for a sweep. Not yet Bronson, not yet.
Choake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Choake wants to control from the top but Bronson keeps moving.
Choake throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Choake trying to control but Bronson is working from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bronson wants to sweep here but Choake controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Bronson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bronson catches Choake with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Choake drives through with a takedown into Bronson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Choake tries to free his leg and advance position but Bronson is retaining full guard.
Choake trying to control the position from guard on top but Bronson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bronson pulls Choake in close to prevent any damage.
Choake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bronson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bronson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Choake closes the distance looking to clinch
and Bronson counters with a low kick, right behind Choake 's knee.
Bronson misses the shot to the body.
Choake misses with the body kick
and Bronson counters with a right hand to the body.
Bronson looks to land a right hand but Choake moved out of range.
Choake lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Bronson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bronson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bronson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Choake with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Bronson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bronson connects with an inside leg kick.
Charles Bronson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Choake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bronson throws out the jab.
Bronson's corner calls for a 1-2. Bronson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Choake rushes Bronson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bronson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Choake's elbow.
Choake drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bronson tries to throw a body punch but Choake avoids it by throwing Bronson back against the cage.

Bronson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Choake backwards.
Bronson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Choake backwards.
Bronson is pushing Choake up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Choake is working for takedown but Bronson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Choake goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Bronson is trying to break the clinch but Choake is controlling him.
Choake jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bronson walks away with a smile on his face. Choake gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bronson wants to slow Choake down by chopping away at his legs.
Bronson stuffs the takedown attempt from Choake. Choake gets slowly back to his feet.

Choake throws a push kick but Bronson slaps the foot to one side.

and Choake counters with a good, hard body kick but Bronson shrugs it off.

Bronson has managed to clinch.

Bronson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Choake. Choake circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Choake misses with a body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Bronson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Choake feints and then cracks Bronson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bronson down.
Bronson stuns Choake with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Bronson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Choake.

Choake looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bronson controls Choake momentarily but Choake frees himself.

Choake drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bronson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bronson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bronson!
Choake is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Choake is trying to control but Bronson manages to pass to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Choake working to try and regain half guard.
Bronson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Choake is looking to escape.
Choake is in all sorts of trouble here.

Choake tries to hold on but Bronson pushes him away.
Bronson tries to control but Choake wriggling away.
Charles Bronson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Bronson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Choake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Choake is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Choake is squirming around, avoiding Bronson's attempts to control the action.
Choake tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jermaine Choake has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jermaine Choake.
I think Bronson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
