The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berzins with a body punch. A glancing blow. Berzins rushes Funk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Berzins lands a right hand that snaps the head of Funk backwards. Funk is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Berzins is defending well for now. It looks like Samuel Berzins has been cut. We've been informed that Funk has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Funk misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Berzins.
