The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Hunter as Chico shoots in.

Hunter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Chico changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hunter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hunter throws a shot to the body.

Hunter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hunter showed some decent athleticism there.
Hunter is looking to advance position but Chico won't allow it.
Chico is looking to control Hunter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chico avoid being mounted?
Hunter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chico on the ground.

Chico looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hunter throws a strike but Chico avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Chico escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hunter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chico is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hunter is aware though and is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hunter wants to stand but Chico has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Chico has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hunter is stalling in the full guard.

Chico is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hunter throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Chico's body to avoid the submission. Chico has instead reached around Hunter's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Chico arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
