Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kaivo Huone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huone comes to the cage accompanied by RMB - Spring. Faber is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Choke - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faber fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huone avoids it really well and circles away.
Faber looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Huone thows a left - swing and a miss!
Faber will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Huone lands a head shot.
Faber misses with a hook
and Huone counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Huone just misses with a punch to the body.

Kaivo Huone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Huone throws a hook to the side of Faber's head but Faber sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Faber lands a jab to Huone's midsection.
Huone lands a nice shot that snaps Faber's head back.

and Faber counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Faber.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Faber closes the distance and clinches up with Huone, looking for a takedown. Faber pushes Huone against the cage but Huone circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Faber moves out of range of the strikes.
Huone throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Faber shoots in for a double leg but Huone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Huone keeps the fight on the outside.
Huone closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Faber wants to take the fight to the mat but Huone manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Faber's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Huone works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Faber drops down looking for an ankle pick but Huone pulls his leg out and moves away.

Huone takes one to the chin there.
Faber goes for a double leg but Huone avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Huone continues to drive forward.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Faber is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Huone pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Huone will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Faber tries to move into range but Huone moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Faber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Huone.

and Faber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Huone won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Huone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Faber connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Huone some visible discomfort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Huone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Faber on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing good reports from Huone's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Faber working his ground and pound in the gym.

Huone's corner calls for a 1-2. Huone obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Faber is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Huone sees it coming and defends easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Faber looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Huone tries to roll over but Faber keeps him under control.

Faber seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Faber is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Huone reverses the position - he's now on top in Faber's guard.

Huone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Faber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Faber lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Huone!

Urijah Faber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Faber has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
