Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Taylor!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a two punch combination.

Williams looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Williams could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Taylor wants to sweep but no luck.
Williams is fighting to break Taylor's control of his arms but Taylor is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Taylor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taylor sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Taylor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Williams looks to throw a body kick
and Taylor counters with a head kick. That will keep Williams thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Nathan Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Taylor counters with a left and a right that stings Williams.
Taylor connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Williams fails with the takedown.
Taylor lunges at Williams with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Williams's hand.

A left lands for Taylor.
A punch lands to the side of Williams 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dan Williams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Williams chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Taylor can pounce on him.
Williams takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taylor to the ground. Taylor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Taylor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Taylor's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Taylor duly obliges.
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Williams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Taylor tries to land a front kick but Williams steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Taylor counters with a left and a right that stings Williams.

Williams feints and as Taylor raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Taylor wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Taylor pulls Williams in close to his closed guard and prevents Williams from doing any damage or advancing position.
Williams would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Nathan Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Taylor lands with a nice combination. Williams backs away looking to recover.

Williams shoots in and bounces Taylor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Williams throws a big right hand that misses.
Taylor can't keep his opponent in guard - Williams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Williams decides to return to a standing position.
A telegraphed right hand from Williams misses the target.

Taylor with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Williams throws a series of punches but Taylor avoids them all with ease.
No luck for Williams with that takedown attempt.
Williams throws a leg kick
and Taylor counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Taylor as he avoids it easily.
Williams is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Taylor cracks Williams with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Taylor lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Taylor closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Taylor sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Williams counters by moving into the clinch.
Williams has Taylor pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Taylor manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dan Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Taylor wants to break free but Williams has control.

I would just about give that final round to Nathan Taylor.
I've got Taylor winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
