Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rosendo Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rosendo Weiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Bob!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bob forces Weiss back against the cage and clinches.

Bob breaks the clinch.
Weiss displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bob.
Bob looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bob connects with a high kick.

Bob takes the fight into the clinch.
Bob is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Weiss gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bob.
Rosendo Weiss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Bob.
Weiss tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bob's elbow.

Bob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Joe Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bob swings away with a body shot that misses

and Weiss counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Weiss lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bob.

Weiss tries to throw a body punch but Bob avoids it by throwing Weiss back against the cage.

Bob pulls guard.
Weiss will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bob wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bob has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Weiss can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Weiss wanted to stand there but Bob had control of the position.

Bob pulls Weiss in close to prevent any damage.
Weiss makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Bob wasn't active enough on the ground.
Weiss shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bob but Bob pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bob's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bob.

Bob darts in and clinches Weiss up against the cage.
Weiss tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Weiss is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bob is defending well for now.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Weiss tries a head kick but it misses.
Bob shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Weiss as he avoids it easily.
Bob misses with a two punch combination.

Bob rushes Weiss and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Weiss misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bob jumps guard but Weiss stands there with Bob around his waist. Bob gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Weiss is looking to break free of the clinch but Bob has double underhooks.

Weiss shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bob defends it nicely.

Bob closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bob has taken the fight to the clinch.
Weiss wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bob has him pressed against the cage.

Bob tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Weiss just stands there and leans against the cage.

Bob jumps guard but Weiss turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bob keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Weiss's efforts to push away.

Bob is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Weiss to keep the fight standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bob has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Weiss uses from the top position.

Weiss postures up.
Bob is breathing heavily.

Bob has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Weiss is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bob.
I wouldn't like to be where Bob is right now.

Bob sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bob is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Weiss is stalling here. Bob is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Weiss seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bob has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Weiss regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bob's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Weiss really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bob wants to control but Weiss is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Bob showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Weiss pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bob blocks a head kick by Weiss.
Weiss stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Horrible takedown by Bob or perhaps it was just good defense by Weiss which made him look bad.

Bob tries to keep at a distance but Weiss has taken the fight into the clinch.
Weiss misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Bob is trying to pull guard but Weiss has him pressed against the cage.

Bob blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Weiss tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bob's elbow.
Bob has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Weiss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Weiss throws a wild body kick that Bob sees coming a mile off.

Bob drives through and clinches with Weiss against the cage.

A head kick misses from Weiss.
Bob shoots for a takedown but Weiss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Weiss tries to clinch but Bob is having none of it.
Nice takedown defense from Weiss. No joy for Bob on that attempt.
Bob takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Weiss tries a head kick but it misses.
Weiss misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Weiss slips a jab and a cross from Bob.

Bob fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Weiss, pushing him back against the cage.

Bob ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bob no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bob wriggles free and stands up.
Rosendo Weiss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Bob is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck for Bob with that takedown attempt.

Joe Bob comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bob has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
