Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Blow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lay Herman!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blow tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Herman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Herman is looking to pass into half guard but Blow pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Blow is in guard.
Herman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Herman is pulling down on Blow's head. It's preventing any offense from Blow, at least for the moment.
Blow has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Blow trying to control but Herman is working from the bottom.
Blow wants to stand but Herman is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Herman looking for a sweep. Not yet Herman, not yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joe Blow just wasn't active enough.
Blow goes for a double leg but Herman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Herman continues to drive forward.
Herman jumps guard but Blow stands there with Herman around his waist. Herman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Blow breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Herman.
Herman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blow as he avoids it easily.
Joe Blow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lay Herman.
Herman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blow scores with a head kick. Herman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Blow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Herman tries to avoid it but Blow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Herman to the ground. Herman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blow dives in for a single leg takedown but Herman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Blow is trying to pull guard but Herman has him pressed against the cage.
Herman tries to score a body lock takedown but Blow shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Herman blocks the elbow strike.
Blow can't get the takedown.

Blow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Blow shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Herman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Blow is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Herman pushes down on Blow's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Herman.
Herman working over Blow with some ground and pound. Blow looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Herman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Herman drops an elbow to the side of Blow's head.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Herman lands with a punch from half guard.

Herman performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Blow won't allow Herman to pass to mount.
Herman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Herman trying to mount his opponent but Blow defends it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Herman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Herman throws a front kick aimed at Blow's knee but Blow avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lay Herman dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Herman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Herman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Herman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Blow trying to control but Herman postures up.
Herman trying to mount his opponent but Blow defends it.
Herman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Herman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Herman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Herman lands strikes from half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Herman is looking to take a break and control but Blow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ground and pound from Herman.

Blow tries to get to full guard but Herman has control of the leg.
Herman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Herman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Herman lands a nice short elbow.
Herman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Herman is nestled in close to Blow, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lay Herman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Blow is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Herman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blow keeps working.
Herman drops an elbow to the side of Blow's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Herman passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blow!
Herman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blow is rocked!


It looks like Joe Blow has been cut.
Herman unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Blow wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Herman celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lay Herman!
