Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julian Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aung San Suu Kyi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suu Kyi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Peace Prize Speech kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Aung San Suu Kyi is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aung San Suu Kyi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Knight.
A nice leg kick lands there from Knight.
Knight has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Suu Kyi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Knight checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Suu Kyi blocks the body kick.
Suu Kyi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knight throws out the jab.
Knight uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Suu Kyi.

and Knight counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Knight working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Suu Kyi wants to sweep but no luck.

Suu Kyi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Knight is aware though and is defending well.

We're going to have a standup here because Julian Knight wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Knight throws a push kick but Suu Kyi slaps the foot to one side.

and Knight counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Suu Kyi's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight throws a big elbow that misses.

Suu Kyi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Knight defends well.
Knight works over Suu Kyi with some ground and pound from guard.

Suu Kyi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Knight throwing strikes from guard but Suu Kyi blocks nicely.

Knight wants to pass the guard but Suu Kyi is keeping the position.
Suu Kyi has momentary wrist control but Knight slips an elbow through the middle.
Knight throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Suu Kyi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Suu Kyi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Knight is aware though and is defending well.
Knight in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Knight is looking to work some ground and pound but Suu Kyi has wrist control.
Knight is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Knight's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Suu Kyi looking for a triangle here. Knight is fighting it but it looks tight! Suu Kyi pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Knight is tapping out - this one is all over!

Aung San Suu Kyi gave a mention to Conviction in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
