Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aron Chan! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas scores with a spinning back kick! Chan shoots in but Thomas avoids the takedown attempt easily. Chan moves forwards but Thomas connects with a nice, crisp jab. Thomas throws a hook to the side of Chan's head but Chan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thomas defends well and Chan ends up having to push Thomas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Thomas lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Chan backwards. Chan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Thomas after a bit of a struggle. Julian Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aron Chan. Chan jumps guard but Thomas stands there with Chan around his waist. Chan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Julian Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas misses with a straight right. Chan fails with the takedown. Thomas connects with a looping right hand.
We've been told by Thomas's head coaches at MMA Gods - 16 Elites! + Roger Gracie that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Thomas throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Chan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thomas as he jumps to the side. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chan rushes Thomas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas lands a nice elbow. Chan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Thomas pulls him back up using the underhooks. Chan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Thomas fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Chan throws out a leg kick but Thomas moves out of range and Chan only half commits. Thomas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Thomas throws an elbow that misses.
Chan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Chan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Thomas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Thomas lands a glancing blow to the side of Chan's head. Chan gets in close and instigates a clinch. A body shot lands from Thomas.
This has been an exciting period of action! Chan breaks the clinch.
Chan shoots and misses and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chan blocks a leg kick. Thomas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chan sees it coming and avoids it easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Chan. Thomas slaps away a takedown attempt from Chan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Thomas lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Chan darts in and clinches Thomas up against the cage. Chan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Chan tries to pull guard but Thomas won't allow it.
A shot in the inside from Thomas. Thomas lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chan clinches up against the cage. Chan jumps into guard, dragging Thomas to the mat.
Chan wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Julian Thomas. Thomas lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Chan has taken the fight to the clinch.

It looks like Aron Chan has been cut. Chan stalling in the clinch but Thomas improves position. Thomas gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas tries to clinch but Chan is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thomas throws an overhand right that lands on Chan's shoulder, as Chan tries to avoid the shot. Chan moves into range and clinches up with Thomas. Thomas looking to throw knees to the head but Chan is blocking nicely.
Thomas gets through Chan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Knees in the clinch landing for Thomas.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Thomas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Thomas gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Chan.
Thomas lands an elbow just above Chan 's eye. Chan tries to break free but Thomas pushes him back against the cage. Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Good standup being displayed there by Thomas as he connects with a hook. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Thomas cracks Chan with a right hand to the side of the head. Chan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Thomas counters with a series of strikes. Chan will be more careful next time no doubt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julian Thomas dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aron Chan's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Thomas. Chan takes an elbow to the forehead. Chan breaks from the clinch.
Julian Thomas is winning the standup battle so far. Thomas tries to bum rush Chan with a series of wild strikes but Chan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thomas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chan momentarily.
Chan darts in and clinches Thomas up against the cage. Chan looking for a takedown. Chan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Chan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice defenses there by Chan. Thomas slips a jab and a cross from Chan.
Thomas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. The fighters circling - Thomas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thomas is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Chan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thomas throws out the jab. Chan takes one to the chin there.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Thomas blocks a head kick by Chan.
An inside leg kick from Thomas misses. Chan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely. Julian Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aron Chan. Chan just misses with a punch to the body.
Chan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chan somewhat. Chan takes a swing at Thomas's ribcage but misses. Chan shoots and misses and Thomas counters with a nice body kick. Chan is breathing heavily. A looping hook to the body misses from Chan. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet. Chan misses with a wild combination.
Chan defending well as Thomas loads up on a big left hand. Thomas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Thomas is looking for a sweep. Thomas is working hard here to advance position. Chan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thomas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas tries to bench press Chan off him but Chan keeps the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Chan working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chan wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy. Chan looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Thomas is avoiding damage well.
Thomas is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Chan tries to score with some ground and pound. Thomas controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Thomas parries the strikes from Chan easily there. Chan is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Thomas to escape.
Thomas is not content to let Chan control the position. You can see the frustration on Thomas's face as Chan controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Chan tries to advance to mount but Thomas instead regains half guard. Thomas on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Chan seems to be working for a kimura but Thomas defends the submission attempt. Chan sitting and controlling from the half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thomas defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Aron Chan will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Aron Chan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Chan closes the distance and pushes Thomas back into the cage. Chan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Thomas creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Chan's defenses. Thomas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas scores with a hook to the body. Chan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Thomas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Aron Chan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Chan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Chan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Thomas throws a right and a left that both miss. Thomas's corner calls for a 1-2. Thomas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Thomas misses the target. Chan ducks under a wild hook from Thomas. Chan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
A nice leg kick lands there from Thomas. Thomas leaves Chan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Thomas scores with a nice head shot. Chan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Julian Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aron Chan. Chan on the wrong end of a nice jab. Chan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Chan tries to move into range but Thomas moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Chan is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A telegraphed right hand from Thomas misses the target. Chan is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Chan or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad. Chan seems to have recovered his senses. Chan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Chan ducks right into an uppercut from Thomas. Chan shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A solid leg kick lands there for Thomas.
Thomas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Thomas lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Julian Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thomas cracks Chan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Thomas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Chan to stand back up! Chan fails with a takedown attempt. Thomas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chan's head. Chan gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Thomas gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julian Thomas! Julian Thomas decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
