Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
32 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Justin Gimmick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mohsen Mosaddegh!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gimmick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mosaddegh.
Gimmick comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gimmick tests Mosaddegh's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gimmick dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mosaddegh. That did some damage!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mosaddegh has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Gimmick listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Mosaddegh clobbers Gimmick with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gimmick uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mosaddegh.
Gimmick throws a head kick that misses.
Mosaddegh thows a body shot but no joy.
Gimmick throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mosaddegh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab from Mosaddegh misses.
Mosaddegh with a hook.
Gimmick will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mosaddegh avoids the head kick by Gimmick.
Mosaddegh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gimmick moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mosaddegh smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Gimmick.
Gimmick throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Gimmick misses with a double jab
and Mosaddegh counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Gimmick falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!
