The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith instigates a clinch.
Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Wolf pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick

and Wolf holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Smith tries to stall but Wolf uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Smith fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wolf prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.
Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Wolf won't allow it.
Wolf prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wolf is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Gerardo Wolf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alain Smith.
Smith fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wolf gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Wolf obliges.
Wolf tries to throw a body punch but Smith avoids it by throwing Wolf back against the cage.
Smith wants to break free but Wolf has control.
Wolf tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wolf lands a shot to the body.
Smith prevents a takedown attempt there.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Wolf is controlling him.

Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wolf is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Smith tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Wolf gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smith.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Wolf is controlling him.
Smith trying to control the position but instead, Wolf has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smith into the cage.
Smith tries to pull guard but Wolf won't allow it.

Wolf prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.

Wolf ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wolf no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Wolf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smith passes Wolf's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wolf is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Wolf misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Wolf's temple.
Wolf is doing well to control the position and prevent Smith from advancing to side control.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wolf keeps working.
Smith is thwarting Wolf's attempts to control the position.

Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
