Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Millard Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Carvery!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weeks throws a low kick, looking for Carvery's leg but Carvery calmly moves out of range.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Weeks.
Carvery is looking to land body kicks.
Carvery lands a head shot.
Weeks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Weeks looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Carvery throws a nice looking combination but Weeks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Weeks connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Daniel Carvery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Weeks misses with a head kick.

Carvery manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Weeks on his heels. He'll look to pass Weeks's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Carvery stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weeks swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Weeks throws a wild body kick that Carvery sees coming a mile off.

Weeks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carvery to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Weeks is trying to control the position but Carvery postures up.
Weeks keeping moving, preventing Carvery from controlling successfully.

Carvery decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Weeks, up you get!
Carvery tries a head kick but it misses.
Carvery tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Carvery throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Weeks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carvery is in Weeks's guard.
Carvery stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weeks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carvery looks winded!

Carvery is stalling in the full guard.
Weeks wants to sweep here but Carvery controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Carvery trying to control but Weeks is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Carvery avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Carvery avoids the head kick by Weeks.

Weeks gets tackled into the cage by Carvery. Carvery maintains the clinch.

Carvery pulls guard successfully.

Carvery looking for a guillotine here but Weeks defends easily.
Weeks wants to control from the top but Carvery keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Weeks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carvery has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Weeks has managed to get both his arms back between Carvery's legs - danger averted.
Carvery bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Weeks's guard.
Carvery slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Weeks looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Carvery postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Weeks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carvery, into his guard.

Carvery keeping moving, preventing Weeks from controlling successfully.
Carvery pulls Weeks in close to his closed guard and prevents Weeks from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Weeks wants to control from the top but Carvery keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Millard Weeks has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Weeks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Carvery looks to land a body kick but Weeks moved away.
Carvery misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Weeks is looking to land body kicks.

Carvery drives through with a takedown into Weeks's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Carvery advances to half guard.
Carvery thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Carvery showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Weeks looks for the body kick but Carvery saw that one coming.

Carvery jabs Weeks right on the nose. Weeks blinks but takes it well.


It looks like Millard Weeks has been cut.

Carvery fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Weeks, pushing him back against the cage.
Weeks is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Weeks struggles to land a body shot inside as Carvery controls his hands.
Weeks trying to control the position but instead, Carvery has worked for underhooks and has pushed Weeks into the cage.
Weeks is stalling here.

Carvery gets control of Weeks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carvery will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Daniel Carvery has got the better of the ground game so far.
Carvery keeping moving, preventing Weeks from controlling successfully.

Carvery pushes Weeks off and gets back to his feet.

Carvery scores with a takedown into Weeks's guard.
Weeks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carvery on the ground.

Carvery stands up from Weeks's guard - Carvery perhaps looking for a knockout.

Carvery closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carvery lands in his opponent's guard.
Carvery takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carvery won't allow Weeks to sweep him here.

Carvery slips nicely into half guard.
Carvery wants to free his trapped foot but Weeks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Carvery is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Carvery missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Carvery passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Weeks!

Carvery can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weeks is looking to escape.

Carvery goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Weeks turns into him and now he's in Carvery's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel Carvery comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carvery has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
