Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oberynn Martell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Smith!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Smith.
Martell walks forward, straight into a front kick from Smith.
Martell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Alex Smith has been cut.
Martell throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.
Smith tries to clinch there but Martell circles away.
Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martell lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.
Smith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martell.
Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Martell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Martell stops Smith from passing to mount.
Martell wants to get back to his feet.
Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Martell get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Martell connects with a looping right hand.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Martell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Martell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
Oberynn Martell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Smith.
Smith lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nice straight punches there by Martell. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Martell.
Smith plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Martell cracks Smith's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Smith slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Martell can do further damage! This one is done, son!
