The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angus doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Groenefeld counters with a takedown into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Angus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Groenefeld is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Angus has escaped the position, nice work there.
Groenefeld lands a nice forearm strike.

Groenefeld tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Groenefeld has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Groenefeld drops back looking for a leg! Angus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Angus manages to kick Groenefeld off! Groenefeld jumps back into Angus's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Groenefeld is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Angus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Angus has escaped and now he's on top!

Groenefeld has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Angus wants to control but Groenefeld is keeping him busy.
Angus thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Groenefeld is looking to regain half guard here but Angus keeps moving and retains side control.

Angus is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Groenefeld is breathing heavily.
Angus looking for a guillotine from mount but Groenefeld is having none of it.
Groenefeld is in all sorts of trouble here.

Angus manages to capitalize on a mistake by Groenefeld to take his back!
Angus is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Groenefeld defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Angus is looking for the choke from the back position but Groenefeld is controlling his hands well.
You can see the frustration on Groenefeld's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Angus has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Groenefeld! Can he survive? No! He's out! Angus gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
