Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Kovalev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Baillie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Kovalev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Baillie!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kovalev shoots for a takedown but Baillie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Baillie finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Baillie misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Kovalev.
Baillie listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Baillie gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kovalev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Baillie throws a series of punches but Kovalev avoids them all with ease.
Baillie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Baillie misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kovalev gets a double leg takedown into Baillie's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kovalev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Baillie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Baillie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kovalev won't allow Baillie to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sergey Kovalev.
Baillie lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Kovalev throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Baillie throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Baillie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kovalev tries to pull guard but Baillie won't allow it.
Kovalev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baillie smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergey Kovalev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Baillie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kovalev closes the distance and clinches up with Baillie, looking for a takedown. Kovalev pushes Baillie against the cage but Baillie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kovalev is breathing heavily.

Baillie moves into the clinch.
Kovalev jumps guard but Baillie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kovalev prevents Baillie from breaking the clinch.
Kovalev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Baillie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Baillie tries to circle away but Kovalev has him pinned against the cage.
Baillie gets underhooks to prevent Kovalev's takedown attempt.
Kovalev is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Baillie looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Baillie is pressed up against the cage. Kovalev has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Baillie down to the mat. Baillie avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A bit of stalling here from Baillie.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Baillie.
Baillie tries to break free but Kovalev pushes him back against the cage.

Kovalev keeps control of Baillie as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Baillie scores with a shot to the side of Kovalev's head.
Baillie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Baillie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kovalev has him pressed against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baillie tries to circle away but Kovalev has him pinned against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kovalev tries for a takedown but Baillie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kovalev throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baillie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kovalev, pushing him back against the cage.
Baillie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kovalev has him pressed against the cage.

Kovalev lands a takedown into guard.
Baillie wants to stand up but Kovalev is controlling him.
Baillie wants to sweep but no luck.
Baillie is trying to control the position but Kovalev postures up.

Baillie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kovalev stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Baillie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baillie wants it to stay on the feet.

Baillie darts in and clinches Kovalev up against the cage.
Kovalev is trying to pull guard but Baillie turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kovalev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kovalev goes for a double leg but Baillie avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Baillie continues to drive forward.

A frustrated look appears on Baillie's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kovalev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Baillie just stands there and leans against the cage.
Baillie is trying to push Kovalev away but Kovalev has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Baillie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baillie throws a good cross that connects.

Baillie has closed the distance and engaged Kovalev in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kovalev breaks from the clinch.
Kovalev slips a jab and a cross from Baillie.
Baillie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kovalev swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A bone on bone clash there as Kovalev blocks the leg kick.
Baillie thuds his right hand into Kovalev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Baillie drives through and clinches with Kovalev against the cage.

Sergey Kovalev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Baillie throws a combination. Kovalev tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Baillie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Baillie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A big left from Baillie misses.
Kovalev tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baillie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kovalev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Baillie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baillie is looking to stand back up but Kovalev counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Baillie.
Baillie is trying to stand up here but Kovalev is controlling him well.

Baillie is not content to let Kovalev control the position.
Baillie moves into full guard.
Baillie controls Kovalev momentarily but Kovalev frees himself.

Kovalev stands and steps away. Baillie gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baillie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Scott Baillie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kovalev swats away the attempt to clinch by Baillie.
Baillie throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Kovalev stumbling backwards into the cage! Kovalev bounces back off the cage towards Baillie, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Baillie lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Baillie celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Scott Baillie!
