Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Ravage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jasper Higgins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Ravage! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ravage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Higgins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ravage as he jumps to the side. Ravage misses with a double jab.
Ravage lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Higgins at a distance.
Ravage stuffs the takedown attempt from Higgins. Higgins gets slowly back to his feet. Higgins tries for a takedown but Ravage sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jasper Higgins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ravage misses with a double jab.
Higgins is looking to chop away at Ravage's legs. Higgins looks to score with a jab to the body but Ravage is just out of range. Ravage throws a series of punches but Higgins moves out of range. Some wild striking there from Higgins.
Higgins could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Higgins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ravage looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ravage struggling a bit here. Ravage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Higgins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ravage prevents Higgins from improving position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ravage can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Higgins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ravage to his feet. Ravage lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Ravage tries to clinch up. Higgins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Higgins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Higgins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ravage is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Higgins is breathing heavily. Higgins creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ravage sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Ravage defending against the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Higgins tries to move to mount but Ravage blocks the move with his legs. Higgins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Higgins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ravage is pushing Higgins's head away, looking to escape. Higgins manages to hold on to the position though. Higgins is looking to take a break and control but Ravage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Higgins moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Ravage is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Higgins feints and as Ravage raises his hands in defense, Higgins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Higgins looking to pass the guard. Ravage is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Higgins trying to control but Ravage is working from the bottom. Higgins tries to free his leg and advance position but Ravage is retaining full guard. Higgins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Higgins misses with a hook to the body
and Ravage makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Higgins really felt that one! Ravage swats away the attempt to clinch by Higgins.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. A slapping leg kick lands for Ravage.
Ravage connects with a solid leg kick. Higgins scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Higgins tries to advance to mount but Ravage denies him. Higgins stands up and we're back to a striking position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Higgins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ravage counters with an inside leg kick. Higgins looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Higgins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Higgins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Higgins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ravage to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jasper Higgins dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ravage circles away from the clinch attempt.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown but Ravage shows good takedown defense. Higgins misses with a takedown and Ravage moves into the clinch. Ravage lands an uppercut. Ravage keeps control of Higgins as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ravage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Higgins fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jasper Higgins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ravage wants to clinch but Higgins slips to the side and Higgins counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Higgins tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jasper Higgins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ravage manages to break the clinch.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ravage as he avoids it easily. Higgins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ravage's guard. Ravage wants to stand up but Higgins is controlling him. Higgins is looking to work some ground and pound but Ravage has wrist control. Higgins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ravage is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ravage has escaped and now he's on top! Higgins working for a triangle but Ravage defends it easily.
Ravage must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Higgins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Higgins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Higgins controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Higgins working over Ravage with some ground and pound. Ravage looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Higgins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Higgins is tying to control. Ravage wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Higgins is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ravage! Higgins stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Ravage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Higgins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ravage looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Higgins in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
It looks like Harry Ravage has been cut. Ravage is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Higgins is looking to take a break and control but Ravage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Higgins tries to advance to mount but can't. Higgins takes a little break here. Ravage wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Jasper Higgins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ravage prevents Higgins from improving position. Ravage pushes Higgins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Higgins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Higgins wants to control but Ravage is keeping him busy. Ravage is looking to regain half guard here but Higgins keeps moving and retains side control.

Both fighters circling a little - Ravage finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Ravage throws a right hand that Higgins ducks under and follows up with a left that Higgins also avoids with ease. A chopping leg kick lands by Ravage. Higgins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Higgins misses with a wild body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Higgins fails with the takedown and Ravage counters with a stiff right hand. Higgins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ravage counters with a slapping leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jasper Higgins will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Harry Ravage's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Higgins looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Higgins won't allow Ravage to sweep him here. Higgins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ravage works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Higgins lands a couple of elbows. Ravage keeping moving, preventing Higgins from controlling successfully. Higgins is stalling in the full guard. Ravage wants to stand up but Higgins is controlling him. Ravage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Higgins trying to control but Ravage is working from the bottom.

Higgins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ravage gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ravage utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Higgins postures up and lands a big shot to Ravage's brow. Higgins passes easily into side control. Nice work. Higgins controlling the position from side mount. Higgins wants to control but Ravage is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Higgins stands up and we're back to a striking position. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Higgins.
Higgins circles away from the clinch attempt and Higgins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ravage's guard now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Higgins won't allow Ravage to get back to his feet. Higgins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ravage swivels though and keeps the full guard. Higgins is working hard here to advance position. Higgins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ravage wants to get back to his feet but Higgins is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ravage controls Higgins momentarily but Higgins frees himself. Higgins wants to pass the guard but Ravage is keeping the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ravage scores with a jab. Higgins acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Jasper Higgins has been cut. Higgins looks for a takedown but Ravage sprawls well. Higgins avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Ravage counters with a thumping low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ravage fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Higgins sprawls well initially but Ravage persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Higgins wants to improve his position but Ravage is controlling well.
Higgins gets back to full guard.
Higgins is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Ravage frees his head nicely. Oh but Higgins has switched to an armbar! Ravage is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
