And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dj Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slowinski closes the distance but Sanchez moves to the side
and Sanchez counters with a slapping leg kick.
Slowinski connects with a solid leg kick.
Slowinski throws a head kick but Sanchez moves out of range.
Sanchez throws a sloppy head kick and Slowinski moves out of range easily.
Slowinski tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Sanchez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Paul Slowinski has been cut.
Sanchez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slowinski.
Sanchez moves out of range of the body kick.
Slowinski closes the distance looking to clinch

and Sanchez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sanchez.
Sanchez landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Slowinski is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanchez is defending well for now.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sanchez as Slowinski tries to tie him up.

Sanchez jumps into guard, dragging Slowinski to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slowinski wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling his posture from full guard.
Slowinski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slowinski is one step ahead there.
Sanchez pulls Slowinski in to control the position.

Sanchez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Slowinski rolls with it to try and escape but Sanchez cranks on the arm and Slowinski is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dj Sanchez!
Dj Sanchez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Paul Slowinski was interviewed post fight and said 'Thanks all i wanna ask, to fight versus Nobunaga Oda, he was a little chick, and i wanna defeat him!'.
