Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Cormeir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormeir has chosen -N- The Bay as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Cormeir!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anstey tries a body shot but Cormeir blocks it.
Anstey trying to control the position but instead, Cormeir has worked for underhooks and has pushed Anstey into the cage.
Cormeir is looking for a takedown.
Anstey lands a body punch in the clinch.
Cormeir is working for takedown but Anstey is calmly controlling the position for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cormeir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anstey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anstey wants to control but Cormeir is keeping him busy.
Anstey wants to free his trapped foot but Cormeir is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cormeir ducks right into an uppercut from Anstey.

and Anstey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cormeir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anstey's waist but Anstey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cormeir off to one side.
Cormeir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cormeir tries to close the distance and clinch but Anstey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Anstey looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cormeir goes for a double leg but Anstey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Anstey continues to drive forward.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anstey is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Anstey is looking to control Cormeir's arms but Cormeir gets an underhook and turns him. Now Anstey has his back to the cage.

Anstey manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A determined Corwin Anstey didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
Cain Cormeir was interviewed post fight and said 'That was BS!!! I demand a rematch!!!'.
