Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rocky Austin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rocky Austin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rocky Austin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Lynch! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Austin keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Lynch displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Austin throws out the jab. A big right from Lynch misses. Austin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Derek Lynch has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lynch misses with a low kick. Lynch tried to score with a low kick but Austin checks it. Lynch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Austin wants to improve his position but Lynch is controlling well.
Austin regains full guard. Nicely done. Lynch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Austin looking for a sweep. Not yet Austin, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lynch is fighting to break Austin's control of his arms but Austin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Austin wants to sweep here but Lynch controlling him for the moment. Lynch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We've been hearing good reports from Austin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Austin working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Austin misses with a wild body shot. Austin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Lynch throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Austin misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynch wants to land a leg kick but Austin is out of range. Austin misses with a looping right. Lynch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Austin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Austin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lynch is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lynch pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Austin is keeping the position for now. Austin is trying to control the position but Lynch postures up. Lynch wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving. Lynch has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Montreal Muay Thai. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lynch preventing the sweep.
Derek Lynch has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A big left from Austin misses. Austin blocks a low kick nicely. Lynch will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Austin throws the left hand but Lynch avoids the punch easily. Austin looks to score with a jab to the body but Lynch is just out of range. Lynch throws a leg kick but Austin checks it. Austin fails to land with a series of punches.
Lynch wants to slow Austin down by chopping away at his legs. Austin connects with a body shot. Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Austin gets caught napping as Lynch dives in and scores a takedown. Austin manages to retain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Austin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Austin can't keep his opponent in guard - Lynch advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Austin is staying active underneath Lynch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Austin is looking for a sweep. Lynch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lynch wants to pass to mount but Austin is defending the position. Lynch is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Austin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lynch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Austin is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rocky Austin will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Derek Lynch's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lynch finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Austin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Lynch throws a low kick but it's checked well by Austin. Austin stuns Lynch with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Lynch looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lynch looks to score with a jab to the body but Austin is just out of range. Austin throws a poor cross that misses
and Lynch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Austin's guard. Austin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Austin keeping moving, preventing Lynch from controlling successfully. Austin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lynch looking to sit in guard and control but Austin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Austin wants to pass the guard but Lynch is keeping the position. Lynch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Austin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lynch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Austin has managed to get both his arms back between Lynch's legs - danger averted. Derek Lynch has got the better of the ground game so far. Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Lynch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynch controls Austin momentarily but Austin frees himself. Lynch keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully. Austin stopping the sweep attempt from Lynch. Austin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lynch to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Austin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lynch pulls down on the head and he's put Austin to sleep! This one is all over!
