Striker has chosen Money by Donald Trump as his entrance music. Matt Striker has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Laverne Black's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black fails to land the takedown.
Striker shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Black shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Black was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Black working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Striker is looking to reverse the position.
Black is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Striker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Black is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Striker has escaped the position, nice work there.
Black throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Black thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Striker shoots and misses
and Black counters with a three punch combo that has Striker backing up. Striker nods at Black to acknowledge the strikes.
Black could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Striker looks winded!
Black fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Black dives in and grabs Striker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Striker pushes down on Black's head and hops out.

Striker shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Black looks for a takedown but Striker sprawls well.
Striker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Black avoids it really well and circles away.
Black tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Striker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Black eats them both and turns towards Striker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Black shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Striker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Black connects with a couple of short punches.
Striker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Black postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Striker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Black, into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Laverne Black dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Black is trying to stall.
Black seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Striker is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Black jumps guard but Striker stands there with Black around his waist. Black gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Black wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Black might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Laverne Black wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Black defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Striker.

Black tries to keep at a distance but Striker has taken the fight into the clinch.
Black wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Striker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Black walks away with a smile on his face. Striker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Laverne Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Striker.
Black shoots for a takedown but Striker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Black darts in looking for a takedown but Striker gets double underhooks and turns Black into the cage.
Black's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Striker is trying to pull guard but Black has him pressed against the cage.

Black tries to pull guard but Striker holds him up against the cage and eventually Black drops back down to his feet.
Striker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Striker shoots for a double leg takedown but Black sprawls well. He's pushed Striker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Striker is breathing heavily.
Black throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Striker's waist but Striker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Black off to one side.

Black keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Striker's head.

Striker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Striker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Black controls the pace.

Black lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Striker!
Striker is desperately trying to improve his position but Black has a good base and remains in mount.
Striker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Striker tries to lock up and control but Black gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Black has hold of Striker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Striker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Black cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Black is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Black!
