The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Talebi looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Talebi stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Talebi defends well.
Talebi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Talebi is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
Talebi is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Talebi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Talebi winds up and cracks Jones with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Talebi is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it.

Talebi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Talebi is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Talebi is very close to passing his half guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Well, if Talebi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Talebi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Talebi looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Talebi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Talebi cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
