Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vaughn Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Oppenheimer!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oppenheimer moves into the clinch successfully.
Howe looking to slow down the pace here.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Oppenheimer.


It looks like Vaughn Howe has been cut.
Oppenheimer misses with a short punch on the inside.
Howe tries to pull guard but Oppenheimer won't allow it.

Howe jumps into guard, dragging Oppenheimer to the mat.
Howe has Oppenheimer pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oppenheimer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Howe pulls Oppenheimer in to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Vaughn Howe wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Howe gets tackled into the cage by Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer maintains the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Oppenheimer as Howe tries to tie him up.
Howe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Howe is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Oppenheimer to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vaughn Howe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Howe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oppenheimer walks away with a smile on his face. Howe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Oppenheimer rushes Howe and presses him up against the cage.
Oppenheimer pushes Howe back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Howe looking for a takedown.
Howe fails to pull guard.
Oppenheimer lands a shoulder strike.
Howe is breathing heavily.
Howe is looking to control Oppenheimer's arms but Oppenheimer gets an underhook and turns him. Now Howe has his back to the cage.
Oppenheimer scores with a nice hook to the head.
Howe is trying to drag Oppenheimer to the mat but Oppenheimer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howe is looking to break free of the clinch but Oppenheimer has double underhooks.

Howe successfully pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oppenheimer wants to stand but Howe has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Karl Oppenheimer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Oppenheimer has managed to clinch.
A short left from Oppenheimer.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Oppenheimer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Howe is trying to pull guard but Oppenheimer has him pressed against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Oppenheimer.
Howe takes a shot to the head.


Howe is rocked!
Howe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oppenheimer just stands there and leans against the cage.
Oh Howe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oppenheimer creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Howe's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Howe drops to his knees and Oppenheimer pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karl Oppenheimer!
