Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Adama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin Tate! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate throws a leg kick but Adama moved away. Adama throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Tate connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like William Adama has been cut. Tate throws a low kick but Adama moves out of range easily. Adama showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tate.
Adama closes the distance looking to clinch and Tate counters with a thumping low kick. Tate scores with a shot to the body.
Adama wants to clinch but Tate slips to the side and Tate counters with a nice low kick that buckles Adama's knee momentarily. Adama tries to clinch up. Tate decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Tate missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adama is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate throwing shots but Adama is blocking nicely. Tate not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Adama knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tate on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tate trying to advance position but Adama counters by regaining guard. Tate prevents Adama from getting back to his feet. Tate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Adama is refusing to be controlled, as Tate sits in half guard. Adama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tate scores with a couple of nice shots.
