The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rounikki shoots in for a double leg but DiMag sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nich DiMag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rounikki is trying to pull guard but DiMag turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

I was talking to Rounikki's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

DiMag felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
