Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsubasa J Champ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Thin Lizzy - Angel of Death. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leandro Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tsubasa J Champ! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! J Champ throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Alves. Alves checks a low kick from J Champ. J Champ throws a head kick that misses and Alves counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Alves not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alves wants to pass the guard but J Champ is defending well. Alves wants to control but J Champ is keeping him busy. Alves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Alves is working for a kimura but J Champ is defending it quite comfortably.
Alves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so J Champ is just riding it out for now. Alves eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves slips a nice elbow through J Champ's hands, connecting with J Champ's forehead. J Champ gets back to full guard.
Alves wants to control from the top but J Champ keeps moving. Alves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. J Champ looking for a sweep. Not yet J Champ, not yet. Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. J Champ keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass. Alves trying to control but J Champ is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. J Champ is controlling Alves's posture. J Champ is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alves has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from J Champ. J Champ with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tsubasa J Champ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. J Champ does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. J Champ buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
J Champ pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. J Champ lands with a kick to the ribs.
A leg kick checked by Alves. Alves avoids the head kick by J Champ.
J Champ throws out a leg kick but Alves moves out of range and J Champ only half commits. J Champ scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A low kick from J Champ misses and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. J Champ didn't expect that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! J Champ tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alves trying to control but J Champ is working from the bottom. Alves advances position into side control! J Champ tries to buck Alves off but Alves is having none of it. An elbow from Alves crashes against the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alves scoring with punches from side control. Alves tries for a kimura but J Champ is defending well. J Champ manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Leandro Alves will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
J Champ tries to land a front kick but Alves steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. J Champ looks for the body kick but Alves saw that one coming. J Champ motions for Alves to come forward. J Champ throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. J Champ fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. J Champ misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
J Champ tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Alves checks a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. J Champ misses with a kick to the body and Alves counters with a takedown into side control. J Champ prevents Alves from moving into mount. Alves is working hard here to advance position. Alves thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but J Champ is defending well. Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but J Champ is defending well. J Champ felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. J Champ is not content to let Alves control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. J Champ tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alves has hold of J Champ's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! J Champ tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Alves cranks the arm and J Champ screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from J Champ, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Leandro Alves! Leandro Alves decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
