Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meldrick Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Freedman! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor moves away from the strike by Freedman. Freedman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Taylor fails in his attempt to clinch. Taylor wants to clinch up but Freedman keeps it at a distance. Taylor shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Freedman napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Freedman tries to buck Taylor off but Taylor is having none of it. Freedman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Taylor prevents Freedman from improving his position. Freedman keeps trying to improve his position. Freedman works his way to full guard. Good work. Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Freedman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taylor stops Freedman from standing up. Taylor advances position into side control! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Taylor taking a breather here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taylor wants to stand but Freedman has his arm trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freedman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Taylor off and has taken his back! Freedman is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Taylor won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Freedman off his unconscious opponent!
