Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandon McKirk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Foster! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKirk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Foster darts in and clinches McKirk up against the cage. McKirk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foster has him pressed against the cage. Foster wants to stall.
Foster lands with a left to the head. McKirk is trying to break free. Foster misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McKirk.
Foster is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. McKirk is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Foster is defending well. McKirk wants to break the clinch but can't.
Foster lands a shoulder strike.
It looks like Brandon McKirk has been cut. Foster is stalling here.
Foster can't find room to land a body shot as McKirk controls the action.
Foster lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McKirk backwards. Foster trying to control the position but instead, McKirk has worked for underhooks and has pushed Foster into the cage. Foster lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McKirk backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKirk is looking to break free of the clinch but Foster has double underhooks. Foster just leaning against McKirk, taking a breather. McKirk is trying to push Foster away but Foster has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Foster can't find room to land a body shot as McKirk controls the action.
A frustrated look appears on McKirk's face as he tries to break the clinch. McKirk stops a takedown attempt from Foster.
Foster scores with an uppercut up the middle. Foster putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has McKirk in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. McKirk is breathing heavily. Foster displaying some good clinch control by pressing McKirk up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Foster landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Foster pressing his opponent against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Martin Foster. Foster lands a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Foster misses with a body shot.
Foster avoids the head kick by McKirk.
Foster sends McKirk crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Foster is motioning to the referee to let McKirk up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
McKirk is rocked! Foster throws a head kick that misses. Oh McKirk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McKirk closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Foster drops McKirk onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! McKirk is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Brandon McKirk's cut is getting worse. Foster works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Foster lands a huge knee in the clinch and it's knocked McKirk out! Massive knee - he's celebrating with his corner and the crowd showing their appreciation!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Martin Foster! A very excited looking Martin Foster rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
