Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Barao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Pettis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Renan Barao! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barao moves into the clinch. Pettis working hard to break the clinch. Pettis trying to land knees to the body.
Barao has had enough of the clinch but Pettis keeps him there for the moment. Pettis manages to pull guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Barao trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pettis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barao controls the pace. Pettis controls Barao momentarily but Barao frees himself. Barao controls from within his opponent's guard. Pettis looking for a sweep. Not yet Pettis, not yet. Barao must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis is trying to keep Barao in close.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sergio Pettis just wasn't active enough. A slow jab from Pettis misses its intended target. Pettis tries to close the distance and clinch but Barao swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Barao swats away the attempt to clinch by Pettis. Barao swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barao misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pettis.
Barao misses with an uppercut. Barao checks a leg kick. Barao instigates a clinch. Pettis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Barao breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pettis shoots in looking for a takedown. Barao tries to sprawl out of it but Pettis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barao manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Barao thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pettis has his takedown stuffed and Barao counters by clinching up. Pettis pulls Barao into guard.
Barao has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pettis to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Barao is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pettis pulls down on the head and he's put Barao to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sergio Pettis! Our winner, Sergio Pettis, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
