The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Georges. Those never looked like landing.
Georges's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nikolaev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Georges scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Guy Georges has been cut.

Nikolaev takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nikolaev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nikolaev wants to get back to his feet but Georges drags him back down.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nikolaev enables Georges to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nikolaev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Georges drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nikolaev manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Georges has Nikolaev in his guard.

Georges looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Nikolaev is defending well. Georges quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Nikolaev has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Georges celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
