Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Maake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cranky Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Cedric Maake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cranky Mark!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mark throws a front kick aimed at Maake's knee but Maake avoids it well.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Maake, as that shot connected.
Maake has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Zero Tolerance in the buildup to the fight.
Maake misses with a right hand
and Mark counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Maake throws an overhand right that lands on Mark's shoulder, as Mark tries to avoid the shot.

Mark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mark throws a big elbow that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mark has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maake defends it easily.

Maake stands up and waves to Mark to follow him.
Maake shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cranky Mark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maake leaves Mark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maake staying out of range there.
Mark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maake manages to avoid it.
Mark fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mark lands with a hook. Maake tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mark bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mark throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maake's waist but Maake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mark off to one side.

Mark shoots for a double leg takedown but Maake sprawls well. He's pushed Mark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maake is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Maake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mark is working away from the top position though.

Mark throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Maake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
