Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Kirkpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rory Kirkpatrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Crazy Kure! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirkpatrick falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Kure to counter with a crisp jab. Kure fails with the takedown and Kirkpatrick counters with a stiff right hand. Kure throws a right and a left that Kirkpatrick avoids nicely. Kirkpatrick throws a nice outside leg kick. Kirkpatrick displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kure. Kirkpatrick scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. An elbow from Kirkpatrick crashes against the mat.
Kirkpatrick wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kure, who protects the arm well. Kirkpatrick goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kure rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kirkpatrick's guard! Nice work there by Kure! Kirkpatrick is trying to hold Kure in close to prevent damage but Kure has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirkpatrick regains full guard. Nicely done. Kirkpatrick is looking for a triangle but Kure pushes his legs off easily.
Kure won't allow Kirkpatrick to sweep him here. Kure avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kirkpatrick keeping moving, preventing Kure from controlling successfully. Kirkpatrick is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kure wants to control from the top but Kirkpatrick keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirkpatrick is trying to keep Kure in close.
We've been hearing good reports from Kirkpatrick's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Kirkpatrick working a defensive guard but Kure passes into half guard.
Kirkpatrick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kirkpatrick actively working from the bottom here. Kirkpatrick is looking to improve his position.
Kirkpatrick is looking to control Kure's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kirkpatrick avoid being mounted? Kure is keen to just control but Kirkpatrick is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirkpatrick tries to roll over but Kure keeps him under control. Kirkpatrick throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Kure manages to pass to side control. Kirkpatrick tries to bench press Kure off him but Kure keeps the position. Kure wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kirkpatrick keeps working. Kirkpatrick is trying to get back to half guard. Kure tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kure has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kure has hold of Kirkpatrick's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kirkpatrick tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kure cranks the arm and Kirkpatrick screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kirkpatrick, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Crazy Kure! Crazy Kure got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
