Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Kirkpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirkpatrick falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Kure to counter with a crisp jab.

Kure throws a right and a left that Kirkpatrick avoids nicely.
Kirkpatrick throws a nice outside leg kick.

Kirkpatrick wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kure, who protects the arm well.

Kirkpatrick is trying to hold Kure in close to prevent damage but Kure has managed to pass into half guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Kirkpatrick's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kure tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kure has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kure has hold of Kirkpatrick's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kirkpatrick tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kure cranks the arm and Kirkpatrick screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kirkpatrick, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
