Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gaudencio Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanz Stokenhizer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stokenhizer's choice of entrance music: The Lucky Bullets . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gaudencio Roman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 32 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hanz Stokenhizer! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stokenhizer sees it coming and avoids it easily. Roman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Roman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stokenhizer was well out of range. Poor timing from Roman. Roman throws a half hearted mid kick. Stokenhizer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stokenhizer takes a body punch but keeps moving. Stokenhizer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gaudencio Roman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roman misses with a body shot.

Roman displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Roman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stokenhizer. Roman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stokenhizer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stokenhizer tries to sprawl but Roman drives through with a takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Roman wants to take a breather but Stokenhizer is having none of it. Stokenhizer gets full guard. Roman preventing the sweep. Stokenhizer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roman is controlling him. Roman trying to control the position from guard on top but Stokenhizer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stokenhizer looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Gaudencio Roman just wasn't active enough. Roman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Roman misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Roman. Those never looked like landing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Stokenhizer is rocked! Roman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stokenhizer circles away quickly and effectively. Stokenhizer is still on wobbly legs! Can Roman finish him? Roman misses with the combination.
Roman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Roman closes the distance looking for a takedown. Stokenhizer stuffs it but Roman still has hold of him. Roman picks Stokenhizer up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Roman slams Stokenhizer to the floor and that's really hurt Stokenhizer - he doesn't know where he is! Roman throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gaudencio Roman! During a confident post fight interview, Gaudencio Roman thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
