Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Osborn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Rogan!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osborn has his takedown stuffed
and Rogan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Horrible takedown by Rogan or perhaps it was just good defense by Osborn which made him look bad.
Osborn with a poor takedown
and Rogan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Rogan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Osborn to the mat! Osborn manages to get full guard.
Rogan looks winded!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Osborn is looking for a triangle here but Rogan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Osborn is trying to get back to half guard.

Rogan trying to control the action but Osborn is working from the bottom.
Osborn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Rogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Osborn keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Osborn is looking for a sweep.

Rogan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Osborn tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Rogan is trying to ground and pound but Osborn uses the momentary lack of control by Rogan to regain half guard.

Osborn is in trouble now - Rogan has advanced to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osborn looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Osborn is in bad spot here.
What can Osborn do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Rogan has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Rogan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Osborn doesn't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rogan shoots and misses
and Osborn counters with a head kick. That will keep Rogan thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Osborn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rogan tries to clinch up.

Rogan clinches up against the cage.
Rogan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Osborn's elbow.

Osborn manages to break the clinch.
Rogan shoots in but no luck this time.
Rogan slaps away a takedown attempt from Osborn, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rogan tries to close the distance and clinch but Osborn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rogan is breathing heavily.
Rogan stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Osborn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rogan clinches up against the cage.
Osborn is looking to break free of the clinch but Rogan has double underhooks.
Osborn keeps control of Rogan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Osborn has had enough of the clinch but Rogan keeps him there for the moment.
Osborn misses with a knee strike.
Rogan wants a takedown.
Rogan wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rogan is looking to control Osborn's arms but Osborn gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rogan has his back to the cage.
Osborn wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rogan has him pressed against the cage.
Osborn dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Osborn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Osborn breaks the clinch.
Rogan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Osborn's waist but Osborn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rogan off to one side.
Osborn dives in for a single leg takedown but Rogan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Osborn pulls guard effortlessly.

Osborn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rogan stays in close to Osborn's body and controls the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rogan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Osborn's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joe Rogan.
Rogan darts in looking for a takedown but Osborn gets double underhooks and turns Rogan into the cage.
Osborn changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rogan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rogan wants to land a leg kick but Osborn is out of range.
Osborn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Osborn somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Rogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Rogan tries to close the distance and clinch but Osborn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rogan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Osborn's half guard.

Osborn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rogan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rogan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Rogan trying to mount his opponent but Osborn defends it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joe Rogan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rogan leaves Osborn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rogan stuffs the takedown.

Rogan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Osborn was covering up waiting for the punch and Rogan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Osborn throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Osborn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rogan manages to get himself to full guard.
Rogan is pulling down on Osborn's head to control his posture.
Rogan is looking to stand back up but Osborn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rogan.
Osborn is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rogan is doing well to control the position and prevent Osborn from advancing to side control.
Osborn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Rogan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Osborn controls from within his opponent's guard.
Osborn wants to get up but he can't break Rogan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rogan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Osborn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roy Osborn.
Rogan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Osborn has his takedown stuffed
letting Rogan counter with a right hand.

Rogan shoots in and drives through. Osborn sprawls well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
