Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ali Magamutdinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonatan Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonatan Jose has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ali Magamutdinov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jonatan Jose!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magamutdinov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jose counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jose.
We've been hearing reports that Magamutdinov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Jose pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jose shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Magamutdinov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Jose is trying to get an arm triangle but Magamutdinov is defending well.
Jose controls the position.
Jose looks up at the clock and then as Magamutdinov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jose smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jose is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Magamutdinov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Magamutdinov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Magamutdinov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jose stands up from Magamutdinov's guard - Jose perhaps looking for a knockout.
Jose gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Magamutdinov misses with a takedown

and Jose counters by moving into the clinch.

Jose gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Magamutdinov regains guard.
Jose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jose wants to control from the top but Magamutdinov keeps moving.

Magamutdinov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jose throws a strike but Magamutdinov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Jose is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Magamutdinov is controlling him.
We've been informed that Jose has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jose is controlling Magamutdinov's posture.

Jose wants to sweep but no luck.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jose holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jonatan Jose wasn't active enough on the ground.

Jose closes the distance and pushes Magamutdinov back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Magamutdinov misses with a takedown attempt

Jose wants to control but Magamutdinov is keeping him busy.
Jose is stalling here. Magamutdinov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jose seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Magamutdinov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Jose is looking to get back to full guard here but Magamutdinov has managed to pass to side control instead.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jose can do anything to dispel that myth.

Magamutdinov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Magamutdinov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jose keeps working.

Jose is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Magamutdinov's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Magamutdinov! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Jose has tapped! This one is allllll over!
