PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Brady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beau Seraphin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brady comes into the arena with Hair of the Dog by Nazareth blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Beau Seraphin!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brady misses with a two punch combination.
Seraphin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Seraphin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brady's guard.
Seraphin trying to control the position from guard on top but Brady is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Seraphin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Seraphin throwing strikes from guard but Brady blocks nicely.
Seraphin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brady works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Seraphin wants to pass the guard but Brady is keeping the position.
Seraphin controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Seraphin advances position into side control!
Seraphin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Seraphin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Brady to see if he's OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Seraphin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Brady takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Seraphin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Seraphin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brady is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Seraphin moves into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Seraphin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
A nice elbow there by Seraphin.

Brady defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Seraphin.
Seraphin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Seraphin lands a heavy elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Seraphin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Seraphin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Seraphin extends the arm and Brady is forced to tap!
