PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Piano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piano comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Roots bloody roots by Sepultura kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Drock Lesnar has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Piano!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar tries to clinch but Piano is having none of it.
Piano throws a head kick that half lands.
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch but Piano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lesnar is looking to clinch.
Don Piano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piano looks to land a combination. Lesnar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lesnar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Piano moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lesnar tries to clinch up.
Lesnar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Piano has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lesnar is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Lesnar tries to clinch but Piano moves away
and Piano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lesnar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Piano scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lesnar tries to keep at a distance but Piano has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lesnar is trying to pull guard but Piano has him pressed against the cage.
Lesnar has a couple of punches blocked by Piano.

Piano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Piano connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lesnar tries to clinch up but Piano circles away and keeps his distance.
Lesnar tries to clinch there but Piano circles away.
Lesnar really is a fat lump.
Lesnar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Piano closes the distance and clinches.

Piano manages to break the clinch.
Lesnar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lesnar throws a series of punches but Piano moves out of range.
Piano lands with a nice combination. Lesnar backs away looking to recover.
Jab, jab by Piano - just one landing.
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Piano swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lesnar misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lesnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Piano is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Piano lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Piano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lesnar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A left and a right from Piano both land. Nice combination.
Lesnar tries to bum rush Piano with a series of wild strikes but Piano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Piano has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Piano pushes Lesnar up against the cage in a clinch.
Lesnar tries to pull guard but Piano holds him up against the cage and eventually Lesnar drops back down to his feet.
Lesnar is breathing heavily.
Piano blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Piano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lesnar closes the distance but Piano moves to the side
and Piano counters with a nice leg kick.
Piano displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Lesnar takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lesnar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Piano connects with a high kick.
Piano uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sloppy strikes from Lesnar. Those never looked like landing.
Piano stalks Lesnar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lesnar's face. Lesnar staggers backwards, shaken.
Piano lands with a kick to the temple. Lesnar shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Piano lands with an uppercut that bounces Lesnar off the cage and back into range.
Lesnar is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Piano circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Lesnar drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Piano follows Lesnar to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Piano!
Don Piano decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
