Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shirley Spears! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Qwer Ser! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ser closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ser tries for a takedown but Spears manages to get underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Ser's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ser pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spears back to the cage. Ser follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Ser shoots in for a takedown but Spears shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nice body punch from Spears. Spears really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ser closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Spears is trying to maintain the position but Ser is very close to passing his half guard. Spears looking for submissions off his back. Ser seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spears does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Spears trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Ser manages to pass to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Spears is wriggling around trying to escape.
Spears regains half guard. Spears looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ser looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Spears moves into full guard.
Spears controls Ser momentarily but Ser frees himself. Ser gets to his feet - Spears follows without any prompting. Ser works over Spears's head and body with a nice combination.
Spears is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ser tries a head kick but it misses.
Oh Spears is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ser cracks Spears with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Spears tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ser pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Spears is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Qwer Ser!
