Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Gorden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Dominguez !
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gorden looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dominguez !
Dominguez tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Gorden content just to control the position here.
Dominguez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gorden takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeff Gorden wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Gorden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dominguez was covering up waiting for the punch and Gorden finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jeff Gorden has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gorden uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dominguez has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gorden throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gorden takes a swing at Dominguez 's ribcage but misses.
Gorden plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Dominguez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dominguez there as he acknowledges the shot.

Dominguez shoots in looking for a takedown. Gorden tries to sprawl out of it but Dominguez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gorden manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dominguez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gorden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dominguez was covering up waiting for the punch and Gorden finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gorden stays in close to Dominguez 's body and controls the position.
Dominguez working a defensive guard but Gorden manages to pass into side control anyway.
Gorden lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gorden works to advance to full mount. Dominguez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gorden has control of Dominguez 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dominguez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gorden has isolated one of Dominguez 's arms. Dominguez looking to fight him off but Gorden twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jeff Gorden!
After winning the bout, Jeff Gorden thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
