The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mariusz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spartan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spartan tries to clinch there but Mariusz circles away.
Mariusz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Spartan looks to clinch
and Mariusz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mariusz pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Mariusz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Spartan scores with a nice hook to the head.
Mariusz content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Mariusz seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Spartan misses with some punches.
Spartan throws a head punch that misses.
Mariusz is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Spartan is keeping busy.

Spartan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

It looks like Leo Spartan has been cut.
Spartan struggles to land a body shot inside as Mariusz controls his hands.
Spartan takes an elbow to the forehead.
Mariusz prevents a body shot from Spartan.
Mariusz creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Spartan's defenses.

Spartan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Mariusz stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Mariusz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Spartan backwards.

Mariusz is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Mariusz tries a body shot but Spartan blocks it.

Spartan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mariusz walks away with a smile on his face. Spartan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Leo Spartan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Mariusz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mariusz tries to clinch there but Spartan circles away.
Mariusz throws a head kick that Spartan semi-blocks.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Leo Spartan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
