Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shael Connen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Howlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howlett has chosen Time of Dying by Three Days Grace as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Shael Connen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Howlett! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howlett circles away from the clinch attempt.
Connen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Howlett keeps control of the position for the meantime. Howlett's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Connen tries to stand but can't do so whilst Howlett controls his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Howlett trying to control here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Howlett wasn't active enough on the ground. Howlett jabbing away but nothing is landing. Connen misses with a looping right. Howlett misses with a straight left. The fight stays on the outside here - Connen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Howlett cracks Connen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Howlett rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Connen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Howlett throws a hook but Connen blocks it. Howlett circles away from the clinch attempt.
Howlett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Howlett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Howlett looks to land a combination but Connen avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Howlett misses with a double jab.
Danga de danga de dang - Howlett scores with a four punch combination! Howlett throws a hook but Connen blocks it. Connen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Howlett is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Howlett trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Howlett is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connen controlling the position easily from mount. Howlett is trying desperately to improve position. Howlett tries to control the position but Connen now has his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connen has the hooks in. Howlett is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Connen biding his time, controlling Howlett. Connen controlling well, preventing Howlett from escaping the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Connen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shael Connen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Howlett throws a body punch but Connen moves out of range. Howlett throws a hook but Connen blocks it. Connen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Howlett gets through Connen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Howlett blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Connen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fighters circling - Connen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jab from Howlett. James Howlett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Howlett scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Connen dives in and scores a takedown into Howlett's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Connen tries to stand but Howlett is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Howlett looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Howlett is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Shael Connen just wasn't active enough. Howlett swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Howlett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connen moves in looking to clinch but Howlett pushes him off. Connen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Connen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Howlett. Howlett misses with a double jab.
Howlett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Connen tries to clinch up. Howlett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Connen.
Howlett uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Connen is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Howlett connects with a nice cross there... Connen is looking wobbly and Howlett recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Connen to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Howlett jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Howlett! In his post fight interview, James Howlett started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
