Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mario Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Cavalcante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cavalcante's choice of entrance music: You & Me. Mario Banks has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Cavalcante!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalcante misses with a kick to the body
and Banks counters with a stiff right hand.
Banks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cavalcante swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cavalcante darts in and clinches Banks up against the cage.
Banks jumps guard but Cavalcante stands there with Banks around his waist. Banks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Cavalcante counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Banks!
Cavalcante remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Angelo Cavalcante.

Banks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cavalcante accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Banks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cavalcante feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

and Cavalcante decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Banks's guard.

Cavalcante is stalling here. Banks is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cavalcante seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Banks has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Cavalcante lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Banks is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cavalcante.

Cavalcante is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Banks is defending well though. Cavalcante let's go of the attempt for now.

That's time! Banks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

I've got Cavalcante winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
